On our way back from Sweden, we stopped for two nights in the beautiful city of Copenhagen. Thanks to the new 3rd tier UEFA competition (Europa Conference League), there are currently a lot of additional games out there. The 2nd qualification round brought up a match between FC København versus the Belarus team Torpedo BelAz. After a full day of discovering Copenhagen by bike, my son and I cycled the 20mins journey from the Tivoli hotel to the Parken stadium – there are not many capitals where it makes fun to cycle – great effort by the city.
For Arne it was the second football match in a real ground after the one in Sweden a week earlier. We enjoyed having some drinks, jellies (it was the licorice mix – good for me, bad for Arne) and a big popcorn bag – it felt a bit like watching American sports. The atmosphere was quite good, I am sure you can expect more when the full Sektion12 fan block attends the game, but for an early qualification round of a new competition and the restrictions in place it was good. Ticket prices were surprisingly very affordable, too.
So another great day out and hopefully many more to come with less and less restrictions…
